Our Story

Hi! We're Matthew & Shawn. Husbands. Best Friends. Now, Co-Curators of this fantastic adventure! We are very grateful and humbled you are choosing to get to know us!

We founded Appreciated Goods in Pittsburgh, PA in 2024, with a focus on a narrative of community, sustainability, compassion, and appreciation. Each brand is selected to promote positivity and community involvement, ensuring every purchase supports a noble cause. Our aim is to make every shopping experience a triumph for our communities, where everyone feels valued.

Our goal is clear: create an impact.

By supporting brands which are from and made in the US, (you will find Pittsburgh & Pennsylvania with their own collections!), Veteran, Women, LGBTQ+, and all Minority-owned, as well as products which are handmade, sustainable, fair trade, upcycled, and made-to-order, we are helping to redefine what it means to shop thoughtfully.

Join us in our quest to transform the retail experience into a force for good. Together, we can celebrate the power of collective impact. Let’s make every shopping experience feels like a small victory for our communities. Because in this journey, we believe that everyone involved should truly feel appreciated.

We also take a tremendous pride in giving back. We focus our energies on how we can make the world a better place by volunteering our time, donating to causes we cherish, and spending quality moments doing things we love. We have removed all of the grass in our city front yard and turned it into an English Garden for the birds, butterflies, and bees to have a natural pollination garden, as well as turning our back yard into a small forest by planting 25 trees, numerous bushes, and flowers to give the critters a place to forage and shelter. We support mental health awareness, providing clothing and food to homeless and hungry women and children around Western PA, supporting military and veteran assistance for those seemingly left behind, and ensuring everyone has the outreach they need to face and fight hate.

We hope you can help us and support our causes, or causes of your own.
